jolie laide

I started this when I lived in Brooklyn and struggled for grace in a city that grants moments of beauty and ugliness breathtakingly close to one another. Now I live in a place where things are a different kind of ugly and the beauty is pedestrian. I struggle with that.

Nice find of an I Ching Sticker. Perhaps it shall bring the success it promises.

Is that what it is? I just liked it against the crackedy blue and the red swoop. Doh!

hey, i thought that looked familiar; a guy i dated once had a really nice tattoo of one on his wrist; they read from the top down and then from the bottom up (so when he looks at it it says something like fortune; when others look at it, it reads travel or whatever). I posted it on my blog for you.

It is the Hexagram Kun which signifies progress and success, though change shouldn't be made lightly.

I did a project back during my first MFA dealing with I Ching and automatic processes.

Regardless, it is a fortuitous find.

oh how nifty! Wait, is the I Ching an automatic process?

I dated a guy once who had some Chinese characters on his wrist..he said it was "Kung Pao Chicken" so he could get his favorite order even when drunk. A good story, but alas, not true.
